Romance, Wine and Dine Your Special Someone At These Great Venues

By Chris Carney, About.com Guide

"Las Vegas has so many restaurants that you could take in one a week for well over a decade and by the time you were done you'd have several dozen new options to try. That being said, not every restaurant is good for every occasion. These restaurants are among the best places in Vegas to take a date. Whether you're on a blind date, an anniversary or a celebrating a special occasion, these venues rank as Las Vegas' Best Date Restaurants.

Andre's Restaurant at the Monte Carlo
Long famous in town as the go to place for French cuisine, Andre's brings dining and romance to the height of elegance. Be warned this type of perfection comes with a price, both one that will hot your wallet and up the ante of future expectations. with amazing French Cuisine, an extensive wine list and a cigar lounge and bar area Andre's will remain atop any Best of Vegas restaurant list for years to come. Reservations are a must with a business casual dress code. Check out the menu here.
  • What I Like: Atmosphere, food and wine.
  • What I Don't Like: The Price. Ha, I am a writer after all.
Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas
Another French restaurant, no duh, that provides one of the best dining views in all Las Vegas. A quick elevator ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris brings you to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant and a stunning panoprama of the Las Vegas Strip will compliment the beauty of your date. (Comment on the view being almost as beautiful as she is and you're on the right track). Famous for their cuisine and the occasionally haughty attitude of the wait staff, this dining location may not be quite as fantastic as Andre's, but the amazing view of the Fountains of Bellagio more than makes up for the upper crust attitude. Oh yeah, the food is pretty darn amazing as well. Reservations are highly recommended and the dress codes tends towards upscale casual. No baseball hats guys. Check the menu out here.
  • What I Like: Food and views.
  • What I Don't Like: Occasional superior air of the staff.
Firefly Westside
Firefly on Paradise was long one of my favorite places to hang out and was a top notch date restaurant. Reasonable prices, great food and an amazing atmosphere combined to make it a Las Vegas Local's legend. Sadly Firefly on Paradise went the way of the dodo and with it a bit of my early Las Vegas soul. But the restaurant gods decided to be kind here and Firefly has reopened on the west side of town, near Ft. Apache and Sahara, and brought all the legends of the Paradise location with it. Rejoice Las Vegans, grab a date and head west. Reservations recommended for busy events and dress is casual, but snazzy. Check out the menu here.
  • What I Like: Firefly has returned. The food and the fun.
  • What I Don;t Like: I still miss the original.

Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel

This place rules, plain and simple. If you're looking for a place to have a quiet meal and talk philosophy with your date then Nobu is not for you. But if raucous, hip and upbeat fun are what you're looking for then this Modern Japanese eatery is a must experience. Great food, tasty sake and the atmosphere you'd expect from Hard Rock make Nobu a top choice date restaurant. Dress is hip and fashionable.
  Check out the Menu Here.
  • What I Like: Food and People Watching
  • What I Don't Like: Nothing
Canaletto at the Venetian
Venice and Paris have long competed for the most romantic place on Earth and while I love Paris Las Vegas, The Venetian remains one of my all time favorite spots to eat, drink, play and gamble. Canaletto is one of those places I cannot frequent as much as I'd like, and maybe that's a good thing because it makes those times I do so much more special. Try the Filetto di Bue Al Arrositto and taste a bit of heaven. Reservations are suggested and the attire is casual. Check out the menu here
  • What I Like: Just About Everything
  • What I Don't Like: They didn't hire me back in 2004. "
